Class 2 return to school letter

smileyWelcome to Class 2smiley

Welcome

This term we will be learning about Robin Hood and castles,

we will be thinking about whether or not Robin Hood was a real person or a myth and then learning about who built the first castles in England and why.

This will also link into our Literacy work where we will be writing stories, newspaper articles and non-chronological reports.

In Maths we will be revising our addition and subtraction skills and then learning about division and fractions.

If you wish to talk to us you can contact us via the class email class.two@melbury.nottingham.sch.uk

Schools of Tomorrow project

We have come to the end of our first year working with Peter Rumney and the Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery.

Our goal was to try and develop children's resilience and self-confidence through creative writing and visual art.

We have looked at many ways to try and inspire us to become great writers and even though our journey has been interspersed with lockdowns, home learning and online Team lessons, Class 2 have managed to film, script and narrate a fantastic film. The film was inspired by a story that Peter had written himself called 'Greenwood Zak'. A story about two children who were looking for their missing parents.

Below are some photos showing our time with Peter and also the finished film.

We would love it if you watched it and then emailed us your feedback about the film and if and how your child has enjoyed the project.

The email address is class.two@melbury.nottingham.sch.uk

Thank you and we hope you enjoy it!

Mrs Clough smiley

We had a horse visit us today! Mrs Bourne was very kind in inviting her daughter, Devon and their horse, Aimee-Lou, to explain all abut horses.

Do you like our African animal finger puppets!

Our mini residential day in the woods.

Here is our amazing Christmas performance.

All of the children worked really hard to learn their lines and all of the songs.

Thank you to all parents and carers who helped with this at home.

We hope you enjoy it,
