Welcome to Class 4's Class Page
The teacher in Class 4 this year is Miss Clarke, supported by Mrs Prichett and Miss Langley. Mrs Clough will be teaching in class on a Wednesday afternoon. We are looking forward to meeting you and working with you throughout the year. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to pop in at the end of the day.
This half term we are lucky enough to have a specialist Yoga Teacher on a Monday afternoon, children will need P.E kit for this. Children will be swimming on Wednesday afternoon, we have the 2.15-2.45 slot, which makes getting back to school for 3.15 difficult. Thank you for your patience with this. Please ensure children have the correct kit each week.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and I will give the children a folder to keep this in. Please bring homework back on a Monday morning. It would be helpful if you could help you child with their homework and where possible, check through it when it is completed. I will return it the following week.
This half term we are learning about Victorian Children. We will be reading ‘Fair’s Fair’ in Literacy to support this. Keep your eye on our website for photos of the fun activities we have been doing linked to our topic.
Every child now has a reading diary and book, which they should have brought home. We would really like children to read at least three times a week, either independently or with an older sibling or adult. We will monitor reading diaries on a Friday but ask that your child has their book and diary in school every day, so that adults can hear them read. I will also send home a copy of the Reading Eggs passwords, this is a great site, which can be used for reading and to help your child with grammar and comprehension.
Violins and Violas
Your child will be taking part in fortnightly violin or viola sessions beginning on September 25th, culminating in an end of year performance.
