In Literacy we have been looking at the book 'Window' by Jeannie Baker. It is a picture book showing how an area changes over time through the eyes of a boy looking out of his window.
We have painted our own images through an imaginary window and written descriptions of what we can see. We have also written predictions about what we might see in the last picture of the book.
This week we have been learning about contractions. Contractions are short words made by putting two word stogether. Letters are taken out in the contraction and are replaced with an apostrophe. The apostrophe shows where the letters would be if the words were written in full.
We became contraction surgeons and cut away the extra letters from two words, we then put a plaster over the cut and put an apostrophe 'stitch' to make a shorter word.
We have been learning about Hansel and Gretal in our Literacy lessons. We have written descriptions, instructions and our own versions of the story.
We designed gingerbread houses in our outdoor learning lessons and then used sweets to decorate real gingerbread houses.
