Today (World Book Day) we performed extracts from the narrative poem The Lady of Shalott by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
To show our awareness of rhythm, we divided into groups of 3-4. and chose a stanza to present to the whole class.
Using bells, triangles, tambourines (and other percussion instruments borrowed from the Music trolley) each group decided themselves how to present their part of the poem to best show the rhythm.
We tried to tailor our performances to the movement of the poetry e.g. shakers can performing the sound of moving water etc.
I'm sure you'll agree our finished performances are fantastic!
