This morning we were very lucky to be joined by a real life Anglo-Saxon visiting Years 5 and 6.
She gave us a super introduction to our topic for this half term (Anglo-Saxons and Vikings) and explained that the last Roman soldiers left Britain in 410. New people came in ships across the North Sea – the Anglo-Saxons. The Anglo-Saxon age in Britain was from around AD410 to 1066.
We learnt all about the Anglo-Saxon way of life from the clothes they wore and the food they ate and also found out about the different parts of society from the lowly slave to the regal king!
